CHOCOLATE SODA

This cold and fizzy drink is very satisfying especially on a hot day! It’s super quick to put together and is reminiscent of a chocolate egg cream, if you’ve ever had one of those. I enjoy using Pellegrino sparkling spring water for this, as the complex and almost-salty undertones compliment the cacao so well, but use whatever fizzy water you have.

Chocolate Soda

1 tablespoon cacao powder

stevia or monkfruit powder to taste

dash of vanilla extract, pinch of vanilla bean powder, or vanilla stevia

pinch of sea salt

optional: other medicinal powders such as reishi, maca, etc

2 - 3 tablespoons water

1 cup of chilled sparkling water

Put the cacao powder, some sweetener, vanilla, salt and any optional ingredients in the bottom of a glass and add 2-3 tablespoons of water. Using a spoon or a small whisk, mix until the powder is incorporated into a paste. Add in the sparkling water, stirring it a few times while you pour it in. It will fizz up even more, so make sure it’s all stirred together very well before serving. Enjoy!
